COREY PEARSON- CIA SPYMASTER IN THE CARIBBEAN TOUCHES ON BAHAMAS HAITIAN PROBLEM

Authorities in Bahamas intercept boat carrying 30 Haitian migrants, including 5 children

In Episode 8 of Corey Pearson- CIA Spymaster in the Caribbean, the large influx of Haitians into the Bahamas is mentioned. Unfortunately for the Haitians and the U.S., the Bahamas is a mere stepping stone for them to attempt to settle in America. This video explains the dilemma:

Several days ago, according to the AP, authorities in the Bahamas had intercepted a rickety boat carrying 30 Haitian migrants, including five children.

The Royal Bahamas Defense Force says it is transporting the migrants to the capital of Nassau, where they will be met by immigration officials and Red Cross volunteers. They will eventually be sent back to Haiti.

Military spokesman Origin Deleveaux says the sloop carrying five youngsters, one woman and 24 men was stopped early Sunday off Exuma Cays in the central Bahamas. Haitian migrants have been coming to the Bahamas for years, fleeing severe poverty. They mostly try to reach the U.S., though some remain in the Bahamas to form a low-income workforce. While no official statistics exist, there are thought to be thousands of Haitians living in shantytowns on the islands.

BAHAMAS GETS 9 NEW PARTOL VESSELS

In the online Corey Pearson spy series, CIA spymaster Corey strikes a deal with Ellison Rolle, Deputy Commander of the Royal Bahamian Police Force (RBPF). Rolle is a CIA plant, or mole, inside the RBPF. Corey planned to fund, through the CIA, a dozen go-fast boats to patrol the waters for an illegal Haitian human smuggling pipeline, which also smuggled in terrorists.

In real life, it appears the Bahamian government is going to have something even better. They purchased naval patrol vessels from the Netherlands's Damen Shipyards Group. They will be operated not by the RBPF- like the go-fast boats featured in the Corey Pearson spy series- but by the Royal Bahamian Defense Force (RBDF).

This will upgrade the current fleet of vessels operated by Bahamian defense forces. There will be nine patrol ships- four Damen Stan Patrol 4207s, four type SPa 3007s and a dedicated roll-on, roll-off landing craft (a Stan Lander 5612) fitted with a crane and demountable disaster relief equipment. The 154-foot long Stan Patrol 4207 is for blue-water patrol and has a range of more than 2,000 nautical miles and a top speed of more than 24 knots and can carry up to 24 crew. The Stan Patrol 3007 is specifically designed for operations in the coastal waters and shallow banks.

Damen has sold these patrol vessels to many countries and delivers them without armament, or solely with small arms. They do have a water cannon and make excellent
pursuit craft without first stopping. They are equipped with a horizontal thruster in their bows, to aid maneuvering in tight conditions, such as mooring in crowded anchorages.

When you vacation in Nassau, Paradise Island or in the remote out-islands in the Bahamas, chances are you will see one of these hi-tech, swift patrol boats protecting the archipelago. Below is a short video of a Stan Patrol 5009 meeting a Stan Patrol 4207:
